SPANG (Channel Spark Ablation for Nanotube Growth)
SPANG is a Specific Targeted Research and Innovation Project (STREP) within the Sixth Framework Programme of the EU. The goal of the project is to develop new methods for the production of high quality and moderate price carbon nanotubes and to develop applications of carbon nanotubes, in particular in nanocomposites. The participants in the project are public research institutes and private companies in Germany, Italy, and Austria. SINEUROP-Nanotech GmbH is involved both as participant and as coordinator of the project.
NANOSPARK ((Development of New Machinery for Nanotube Mass Production Based on the Channel Spark Ablation Technique)
NANOSPARK is a "Horizontal Research Activity Involving SMEs Co-Operative Research" within the Sixth Framework Programme
of the EU. The participants are small and medium-sized enterprises from Spain, Italy, Germany, and Austria and public research institutes
from Italy, Germany, and Israel. The role of SINEUROP Nanotech GmbH is to transfer production parameters from laser
ablation and carbon-arc synthesis to the Channel Spark Ablation Technique, to analyse and characterize the produced
nanotube material, and to work on applications of carbon nanotubes.
ARCORC (Applied Research Roadmaps for Carbon Nanotubes - Opportunities, Requirements, Challanges)
Arcorc is a Specific Support Action of the Sixth Framework Programme of the EU. Arcorc combines tow German SMEs and the Engineering Department of Cambridge University in the effect to establish a roadmap for nanotube research and nanotube applications in Europe.
NANOMED (Development of a Carbon Nanotube Actuator for Use in Medical Technology)
Nanomed is a Sixth Framework Collective Research Project of the EU involving SMEs, public research institutions and trade associations in healthcare industry aiming to use actuators ("artificial muscles") based on carbon nanotubes in medical applications.
Molecular Engineering of Nanotube Transistors
This project is part of Kompetenznetz Funktionelle Nanostrukturen by
Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg. The Max Planck Institute for solid stale research,
the University of Tübingen, the NMI Reutlingen and SINEUROP cooperate in order chemically
modify carbon nanotubes for applications in field-affect transistors.
